Robison Hilario is one of six pro Dominican kiteboarders heading out to the 2nd PKRA event of 2014. Located in Dakhla, Morocco, The Dakhla Kiteboarding World Cup will showcase a mix of freestyle and wave riding on March 18-23. Sponsored by F-one Kites and Chicken Dick Kitesurf, Hilario pulled out a 2nd place finish at the first PKRA event of the season in Punta Chame, Panama hosted at Nitro City Panama. This time, he hopes to top his last performance by bringing the number one trophy back to Cabarete.
This won’t be easy. First of all, at the D.R. Open Competition hosted last week on Bozo Beach, Starkites rider, Luis Alberto Cruz, ended up 1st on the podium. All six of the Domincan riders ( Ariel Corniel, Luis Alberto Cruz, Nico Suriel, Alex Soto, Posito Martinez, Robinson Hilario) stand a chance at the top spot. They are very close friends and ride almost every day together. They learn from and teach each other. All of these guys are show-offs and each of them has been known to pull tricks out of the bag that no one has ever heard of or seen—except for here on Kite Beach. I think it will come down to whoever can stay the most composed under pressure.
