Cabarete is a small beach town with a great blend of tourist amenities and Dominican culture. Cabarete features the famous Kite Beach for kiteboarding, Encuentro beach for surfing, and other beautiful sandy beaches for windsurfing and other water sports. Cabarete also offers many local and international restaurants, shops, banks and ATM cash machines. An amazing nightlife kicks in after 11:30 pm. Many beach front restaurants turn into dance clubs with local and international flavors. The latest is Ojo where locals and tourists alike mingle.

Kite Beach in Cabarete is one of the top five kiteboarding locations in the world. The trade winds with thermals make for strong and consistent winds. The wind blows easterly, which gives Cabarete perfect side-onshore kiting conditions most of the time. Generally in the morning, there is little to no wind (which makes it a great time to stop by Encuentro for some snorkeling or surfing). Early afternoon is usually good for beginners. After 2 pm, the thermals kick in and make the wind a lot stronger, reaching its strongest around 4 to 5 pm. Cabarete’s beach also hosts an array of annual international championships. On any given day, visitors to the area will see the sky filled with hundreds of colorful kites carrying amateurs and pro riders through the surf.

Kite Beach Inn is located directly on Kite Beach. Kites can be launched off our property right on Kite Beach. We cater to kiteboarders, kitesurfers, surfers and beach vacationers. Many guests enjoy surfing in the morning, kiteboarding in the afternoon, chilling out at our beachfront rest area for evening happy hours, then heading out to the Cabarete main beach for partying at night. We pride ourselves in providing a friendly, casual and fun environment where guests can mingle and make friends easily.

Additional activities in the area include surfing, wind surfing, scuba diving, horseback riding along the beach or in the nearby wooded areas, zip lining, deep sea fishing, motor scooter rentals and much more.
